Captured near Skukuza in South Africa’s Kruger National Park, The Golden Mane shows a male lion moving through his territory alongside two lionesses. The group was patrolling close to the road, occasionally interacting and challenging one another, before coming remarkably close to our vehicle.

For a brief moment, the male turned and looked directly into my lens. That intense eye contact, combined with the texture of his mane and the closeness of the encounter, gives the portrait its strength. It is a powerful and intimate glimpse of a lion in his natural environment.

 

 

Print Details

Each photograph is produced as a premium Alu Dibond print on a 3 mm matte aluminium composite panel. The high resolution seven colour UV printing process delivers exceptional sharpness, fine detail and rich tonal depth, while the matte surface reduces distracting reflections.

The frameless design creates a clean, contemporary gallery look. A concealed aluminium profile is professionally mounted on the back, allowing the artwork to float approximately 1 cm from the wall.
