Captured in Lake Manyara National Park, Tanzania, Stillness shows a Grey Heron quietly hunting for small fish and frogs in the shallow water. While watching the bird move through the scene, I noticed the clean reflection and the almost perfect balance between subject, water and negative space.

What makes this image special is its simplicity. The high key composition removes nearly every distraction, leaving only the heron, its reflection and a few delicate traces of vegetation. The result is a quiet, minimal image that reflects exactly what the title suggests: stillness.

 

 

Print Details

Each photograph is produced as a premium Alu Dibond print on a 3 mm matte aluminium composite panel. The high resolution seven colour UV printing process delivers exceptional sharpness, fine detail and rich tonal depth, while the matte surface reduces distracting reflections.
